Ever since (or soon after) I upgraded to Big Sur, PS crashes during the first launch after any restart or shutdown. I have disabled the GPU as suggested elsewhere in this forum, and have had numerous updates of both the OS and PS during this time. [Current PS is 22.5; current OS is 11.5.2]  I can immediately relaunch PS with no problems.

Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold  Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. Any better?
