Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

Could you please share the system info of Photoshop from Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload to Creative Cloud files (https://assets.adobe.com/files) and share with us? What is the error message that you see? Can you share a screenshot? Does it happen with just JPEG files? How are you trying to open it?

You can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#reset_preferences

Please back up your settings prior to resetting the preferences.

You can check https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html#BackupPhotoshoppreferences.

Let us know how it goes.

I had to remove files to make enough 'free space' for the application to run correctly as well.

It sounds like you have jpeg set to open in ACR, but your GPU driver crashes when ACR tries to use it.

First try to update the driver to fix the underlying problem. If that doesn't work, disable the GPU in Camera Raw Preferences (accessible also from Bridge or Photoshop if you can't open ACR).

You can also disable jpeg support in ACR entirely - this means jpegs will open directly into Photoshop.
