"Error: Could not exit quick mask because of program error"

I opened a document in photoshop and for some reason it got into quick mask mode (I never selected quick mask mode). Then when I tried to escape it using shortcut "Q" I got the error "Could not exit quick mask because of program error". 

Any ideas?

What version of Photoshop are you running and what do you have for a graphics card?

Hi, do this issue happen also with other documents or only with this one?

If it always happens you can try to reset preferences:
