I updated to Photoshop version 21.1.0 a couple days ago. Now I am having a problem. When using the clone tool, spot healing, or healing brush (might be a few others I haven't tried) I get random diagonal lines. I have tried to restart, recheck settings etc. but it is still messed up.
Any ideas?
Thank you...

When using brushes (or brush like tools) in Photoshop, holding down the Shift key while clicking will give you straight lines between those points. Could this be your issue?
Could you post a screen shot so we can see exactly what your issue is. Cheers.

I am not holding down the shift key...etc...I hold the alt key and click for the source area, then click where to put the "clone spot" and then I get his fabulous diagonal line.
This just became a problem with the update. Any help is surely appreciated!
Below is an example.

Have you tried resetting the Photoshop preferences?
https://helpx.adobe.com/au/photoshop/using/preferences.html
"Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop."

Tried that - still doing it. Thank you for the advice though!

Hi
It's a bug in the latest version, if you're on Windows 7 you'll need to revert back to version 21.0.3, if you on Windows 10 and you use a Wacom tablet with have the PSUserConfig file added you can delete this and enable use Windows Ink in the Wacom settings.
If you don't have a wacom tablet and use a mouse you'll need to revert to 21.0.3 also

Thank you! I chatted with support and yes that is what they told me. I had to go back to version 20.0.8 and uninstall 21.1.0.
Hopefully they will get this fixed!

How do you uninstall and reinstall given it's an online subscription? I guess if I had more time I could figure this out myself. UGH.

And... dodge tool doing the same thing. This is so freaking annoying. I have barely used this subscription and it is somewhat unusable. Any thoughts on how to go back to version 20.0.8 greatly appreciated.

My thoughts:
If you like a Photoshop version don’t uninstall it when upgrading.

What is/are the input device/s with which the issue arises?
What are you talking about »this subscription« anyway?
Photoshop 20 was CC 2019 so the subscription model should not be new to you.

Yeah... I'm busier than I've ever been in my life so sorry short on details. I subscribed last year after getting a new computer, saying goodbye to my ancient, non-subscription Photoshop. Not sure what you mean by the subscription model should not be new to you," but prob'ly not necessary to know.
Input/devices, etc: Windows 10, Lenovo Yoga, Logitech wireless USB mouse, and an Amazon brand wireless USB mouse. Looks like I have Photoshop version 24.7.0. Weirdly, after about 45 minutes of weird diagonal streaks when I used almost any tool, it just stopped malfunctioning. I haven't used it today to see where we are,
Thanks!
