I formatted the size on 8 original JPG images on PS. Then saved them all as copies. (only way to save JPGs for some reason.) Later I wanted to adjust images with Raw filter. On four images it worked fine, but on four others this dialog box popped up:
"The ICC color profile of this document is not compatible with Camera Raw Filter. Convert document to another profile to apply the Camera Raw Filter."

There are multiple ways (status bar, info panel) – but what if you go Edit > Convert to Profile, what is listed as the source/from profile? Please note the exact name or provide a screenshot.

PS says my ICC profile on a jpeg will not work with camera raw filter. I need to convert the file to make it compatible. I have no idea what an ICC profle is. Please advise in beginners terms. Thank you.

Open the file in Photoshop and set the status bar to show "document profile" like this. What does it say?

There's no need to search for anything. Just look at my screenshot directly above. This is the bottom left of the image window. Click the triangle and set it to show "document profile" What does it say?

That's your problem, an Apple non-standard profile.
