Hi,

I have been using photoshop for over a yer now. Around a year ago I started editing RAW photos using photoshop. Since Feburary this year I am facing an issue with saving RAW edited images.

Whenever i edit and save a RAW image, it automatically converts to black and white. On my desktop it shows that the image contains colour but when I open the image it is black and white.

Please help!

Hello, are you opening the raw files in Adobe Camera Raw? From which camera do they come from?

Is camera Raw set to a B&W preset?

Please post a screenshot of ACR with the preset tab open.

OR, do you save the files as Photoshop RAW files, if yes, why? it is not made for archival, but just for very specialized workflows?

If you edit a (photo camera) raw file, as a smart layer, you can save it as a PSD or a TIFF to keep the layers intact.

Hi,

I use a Cannon EOS 600 and 80D.

I have not cahnged any settings.

I am new to the software so I havent understood what you have written.

All I do after editing the photo is that I save it (without changing anything.)

Hello, in which format do you save it, then?

do you save it in Photoshop, or in Camera Raw?

Make sure you haven’t accidentally turned on View>Proof Colors with the Proof Setup set to Working Black Plate. Also make sure you don’t have a Monochrome Profile set in your Camera Raw dialog:

Please post screenshots of your Photoshop panels. Images don't just turn to monochrome, you must actively make that choice at some point in your workflow.
