I'm interested in Generative AI, as in I'm a photographer who really doesn't want to use it in my work. In fact I see it as the ruin of traditional photography and potentially the end of my career. Of course it's not just my industry that faces the threat of Generative AI, my wife's a writer and is in the same predicament. What I'd like though is to be comfortable using software that doesn't incorporate Generative AI. I can't reach anyone at Adobe and the chatbot doesn't seem to understand my questions (ironic as it's no doubt using AI). Maybe someone at Adobe will see this community post and answer some questions such as 'Is Adobe making efforts to ensure photographers can use editing software that doesn't incorporate genAI?' Or 'Can our longstanding workhorse Photoshop be kept GenAI-free and put the new elements into a shiny new software?'

I think Generative Fill is here to stay, but you don't have to use it.

Adobe is a member of the Content Authority Initiative and has introduced Content Credentials, which are a new kind of tamper-proof metadata. It will also show if GF was used.

Stories of news photographers trying to pass off edited images come up every so often in the news. Content Credentials and/or sending Raw files will protect and preserve their future credibility.
