Recommend 3D Technique or Tutorial for Book Cover?

I hired someone to create a cover for one of my books, and he sent me a picture of the cover in 3D view.

I like it! I asked him how he did it, and he said "Photoshop."

So I started looking into it, but I've been running into problems. After attempting one 3D strategy, I couldn't view any of my Photoshop files. I had to restart Photoshop twice to fix it.

To cut to the chase, can someone direct me to the best technique or tutorial to turn a rectangular picture of a book cover into something like the image I uploaded, complete with a drop shadow?

I'm using Photoshop 23.2.2 on a Mac.

Thank you.

Here is one such place that is very kind to offer such templates for free (no affiliation): https://covervault.com. Hope that he
