I've been using the refine mask tool perfectly fine and smooth for the past few months and it has suddenly become laggy to the point where it's almost unusable. I've made no significant changes to my machine or Photoshop settings.
I'm not sure if this is an ongoing issue with a Photoshop update or something I've done wrong.
Any assistance resolving the issue would be greatly appreciated. I however am looking for a fix and not a workaround if possible.
Thanks.

Hey, @ANT517. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.
Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy and paste into a text document > Upload and attach here.
Your machine has two GPUs: the power-saving Intel UHD 770 Graphics and the high-performance Nvidia RTX 4080 (Big Boi).
Please try these two suggestions:
1 - Update the graphics drivers using Intel's auto-detect program, as you might've updated Nvidia drivers already.
2 - Follow step 6 in the content here to configure the default GPU for Photoshop: https://adobe.ly/49YQSCI
After this, in the Select & Mask workspace, press and hold the ALT key to change the Cancel Button to Reset, which will reset the Select & Mask workspace.
This should directly help how Photoshop. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

@Sameer K Thanks for the assistance. I tried following the guide but it is slightly different on my NVIDIA settings end. I think I may have done the equivalent. I'll test if it helps.
