P: Convert to Video Timeline option missing - Apple M1 devices

I am not able to select anything but "Create Frame Animation" in the Timeline. I am trying to create a Video Timeline, but not using Frame animation. This option isn't in the bottom left or top right of the Timeline menu.

I have tried resetting my preferences, uninstalling and re-installing, creating a new document, and converting all layers to smart objects, and none of those have worked. I have a macbook pro with macOS Big Sur version 11.2.3 with an Apple M1 chip.

Thank you for the help!

Hi I have a Macbook pro with M1 Pro and it perfectly works for me. I wanted to export a GIF from Photoshop and imported a image sequence folder into Photoshop, but it seemed not work. And I also cannot open or import a video into Photoshop. These works before I using M1 chip. After I setup open under Rosetta, everything back! It's amazing.

Hello!

I'm trying to make a gif in Photoshop 2022. Ideally, I'd like to import a video and then have Photoshop create frames from that video. I saw a tutorial on how to do that but my Photoshop no longer has the option to important videos. I've included a screenshot of my import options below.

I also thought I'd try another way using the Timeline but I don't have the "Create Video Timeline" option either. It is only "Create Frame Animation."

I would appreciate any help with how to create gifs and/or how to important a video into Photoshop 2022.

If you have an M1 Mac then you will need to run Photoshop under Rosetta in order to use video functions

Hi!

Did you try opening the video, rather than importing it?

Hi. The video options in Photoshop aren't available on M1 computers but you can open the application using Rosetta: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html

That doesn't work either. I think it's the M1 issue mentioned above.

Hi!

I've made a sequence of 10 images in Illustrator and then I'm trying to open them in Photoshop to make an animated GIF.

I exported the images for screens as JPG100 in a separate folder. Named them properly (e.g. image 001, image 002, etc).

In Photoshop I clicked File -> Open -> Clicked on one of my images, clicked on the "image sequence" option, switched the workspace to "Timeline" and my timeline is not active.

I can't play the sequence, I can't change the resolution or do anything with it.

Anyone has this problem?

Thank you

P.S: I work on MacBook Pro 12.3 Monterey. Have an Adobe CCloud subscription and all my apps are up to date.

Are you on a M1 mac? If so, you can access video functionality by running in Rosetta. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-for-apple-silicon.html

Follow this thread for updates when native support is delivered in an update: https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop-ecosystem-discussions/p-convert-to-video-timeline-option-mi...

I searched a lot for information on this issue, but I can't find anyone with a similar problem. The button in the lower left corner to change from "Create Frame Animation" to "Create Video TimeLine". I updated the program to the latest version, but nothing has changed. Perhaps you need to change something in the settings of Photoshop itself?

I work on the system macOS Monterey, MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

You must run Photoshop with Rosetta. Maybe one day Adobe will fix it, or maybe they are planning to remove the timeline for everyone.
