Requesting a Script, Action, or Addon that will generate masked fill layers from a B&W selection.

Often in icon design I need to create masks from black and white / monochrome images. For example, here's an example image:

Untitled-2.png

In my workflow, I need to remove (mask) the white background and convert this to a solid black fill layer. This is easy enough:

1. Copy the image to a new channel
2. Control click the new channel to get a selection
3. Switch back from the channels tab to the layers tab
4. Invert the selection
5. Finally, add a solid color layer (black)

While the process is really straightforward, it gets very tedius when I'm performing this sequence on hundreds of icons. So, I'm looking for an action, script, or addon that will just do this process for me - Ideally:

1. Select the object
2. Run the action/command
3. Get a masked fill layer back

Here's a video of what I'm doing now:

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks,
Jay

@futuremotion – Easy enough with a 4 step action, here is a screenshot:

The action can be bulk run via File > Automate > Batch or via Image Processor, Image Processor Pro or other scripts.

Thanks so much! The action did the trick. Apologies for marking this as a bug, I didn't intend to - sorry.
