The way in which files are saved in other extensions has become impractical and it directs to other folders where it was saved last time it is not practical and adds the word "copy" it is not necessary because I give the name terrible the way to save files Before it was more intuitive, you just pressed ctr + shift + s and that's it, it saved it in the same psd folder. Please Adobe go back to the old way. I have been running the program for 30 years and it is my only suggestion.

I have been running the program for 30 years

Then you remember that before CS5, you couldn't save to other formats like jpeg/png etc at all, until you stripped out all features not supported in the target format. You first had to flatten, convert to 8 bits etc.

Back then it really was complicated.

Please Adobe go back to the old way.

Ironically, that's what they have done - only this time, there's "Save A Copy". There wasn't then.

It's important to know the background here.

It's important to know the background here. It's simple: Apple removed the APIs that Photoshop used, and that allowed direct save to those other formats. Save A Copy isn't Adobe's idea. It's their response to MacOS changes.

There is a "legacy save as" in preferences which mimics the old behavior, but this time with a real risk of unintentional overwriting original data. That's why this setting can't be default.

Exactly right, very simple, and of course, this isn't a bug.
