I am running MacOS 13.5.2 with Lightroom Classic 12.5 and Photoshop 2024
I like to keep my Photoshop edits complete with all layers etc, so I can go back and redo if needed and because of file sizes save as .psb As .psb files do not sync to the cloud I duplicate the image in Photoshop, flatten it to reduce the size and then save as a .tif file. I have tried saving as the original name and under a new name. The saved images are filed by Photoshop in the folder with the original raw image.
The bug is that Lightroom is not cataloging the saved images. It was doing so prior to Photoshop 2024

Hey, @royh59386047. I'll help you figure this out. In Lightroom Classic > Go to Preferences > External Editor > Set the file type to TIFF.
When you're done editing in Photoshop, simply press CMD + S or File > Save & go back to Lightroom Classic. The edit should appear stacked in Lightroom.

Hi Sameer,
I agreed that would work if I were only saving the file as a TIFF. However because I wish to save the file as a .psb and then flatten it and save as a TIFF it does not work. My .pdb file is saved and added to the Lightroom collection however the TIFF file is not so I have to save it to my desktop and then import it into Lightroom. What I would like is for the second save to also add the file to the Lightroom collection. It only appears to work for the 1st save (or "save as")

Hi Sameer, I have the same problem, I edit the inage in Photoshop and save it (cmd +S). Photoshop saves it to the disk (overwrites the previose ver) however the preview in lightroom has not updated.
If I shut down lightroom and restart it it updates? Is there a way to refresh the previews? Or is this a bug?
I am using the curent subscription of Photoshop and Lightroom locally.
Thank you Gary

Hi Garry,
I've been having a similar issue, I edit a copy of an images 'with Lightroom changes' in Photoshop, i this case I did a generative expand, but he doesn't really matter what you do, and then saved the work and went back into Lightroom. I tried it a few times with Adobe Technical support and found that either the 'Develop' or the 'Libuary' preview would update. It could be either way round... but the other one would not. I spend 40mins watching the Adobe support agen faffing around on my system (remotly) and they found that if you creat a vertual copy of the image this solves the problem. It's not a very good work around but might be faster then exiting and reloading. It seems there is a bug that needs fixing!
Hope this helps.
PLEASE FIX ADBOE 🙂

This won't be the same file, but a new file. So don't expect the original file to update.
If you don't see this new file in Lightroom, it's because

For me the preview refrehses, but if I enter the devop module in LR Classic it's the old first stage of the tif file.
