Save for Web no longer changing Document Profile

For years i BELIEVE I have used "Save for Web" when prepping files that will be displayed on the web.  I have checked the "Confert to sRGB" and it's always worked like a champ.  But not today.  It just won't do it.

I have to flatten my psd, convert the profile, save as a JPEG, open that JPEG THEN Save as web will work.  What am I doing wrong that all of a sudden each and every of the hundred+files has to be done by hand?

Never Mind.  "Embed Color Profile" was mysteriously turned off.

Yes, you always need to embed the profile. Converting to sRGB doesn't do that, the numbers are sRGB, but the file is untagged.

In Save For Web, embed profile is unchecked by default. You have to check it manually, but once checked, it sticks.

In Export, embed profile is now on by default (but the preview is buggy and currently displays without color management at all. Luckily, that doesn't affect the file itself, only what you see in the Export dialog).
