scratch disk space

According to PS my scratch disk has much less fre GB than it really does--how can i fix this/why is this?

The chances are it is telling you the space CURRENTLY free after Photoshop has grabbed dozens of GB to start with. Please check the free space AT THE TIME PHOTOSHOP IS RUNNING to compare. If they are still different, please post screen shots of both.
