Hello.

I need to use the ScriptingListener for a personal project.

I'm On Windows 10 Family, version 21H2.

And I'm using Photoshop 2023 24.0.

I can launch, relaunch, delete my settings, uninstall and reinstall photoshop, but the file ScriptingListenerJS.log does not appear on my desktop at launch.

I tried to put the ScriptListener.8li file like this :

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\Scripting Utilities\ScriptListener.8li

Or like this :

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins

Even like this as specified on the Photoshop Scripting Guide page 73 :

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\Automate\ScriptListener.8li

But still still not a clue of where this ScriptingListenerJS.log can be.

Here is my system menu recap just in case :

Optional and third party plugins:

   ScriptListener 13.0 - from the file “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\Automate\ScriptListener.8li”

Duplicate and Disabled plugins:

   ScriptListener 13.0 - from the file “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\Scripting Utilities\ScriptListener.8li”
   ScriptListener 13.0 - from the file “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\ScriptListener.8li”

Plugins that failed to load: NONE

Can someone help ? Is there another way to create script in photoshop without using SL ?

Thanks in advance,

Paco.

I would try removing it from all locations except:

ScriptListener 13.0 - from the file “C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\ScriptListener.8li”

If you are getting NO output file on your desktop then I would get rid of them all and re download from here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/downloadable-plugins-and-content.html. Photoshop will load the newest one when it finds duplicates. But one of them seems to be running. Could your log file be locked/opened by another program? I would try deleting the log file as well. You should have two of them for windows.

I have it installed on Windows at:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Plug-ins\ScriptListener.8li”

It's outputting the ScriptingListenerJS file to the desktop just fine.

What is the path where you have the plug-in installed?

Placed the script at the same place as you did, actually though I am not running on the Admin account, using my work computer. Don't think I can have access to it. Would 'Run as administrator' on a specific app help? tried on Photoshop but no changes either.

Non-admin accounts may not be able to read or execute the plug-in and/or allow the plug-in to write to the desktop. Might need to talk with your IT admin.
