Why is my photoshop select and mask all pixleated?

I am on a Windows OS and have the latest version (Potoshop 23.3) or at leats I think it is. This is just something I did real quick.

Can you please explain in more detail what we are looking at? Is this a preview? Is this the final version? Could you provide a full screen capture.

In your preferences, do you have "Deactivate Native Canvas" checked?
