Select Object doesn't select all of the object

Hi,
I have a problem with the most recent version of Photoshop.
Whenever I use the "select object" function, the selection that Photoshop is doing doesn't select everything, it always leaves a gap of a few pixels at the edges of the canvas. Weirdly, this only happens on the right hand and at the lower edge of the canvas.
No other side of the canvas has ever been affected by this bug.
I realized it a few days ago when I was taking biometric passport pictures. The subject is almost filling the frame, and the subject touches the edges of the canvas on the left, right, and bottom edges. When using "select object", the behavior described above occurred. (See attached picture.)
The only way to fix it is to manually add the missing parts to the selection. Which, at least in this case, only takes a few seconds but kind of defies the purpose of having an automatic selection tool.
I tried different pictures, different people, different shirts, and even other cameras and file formats. It always comes down to the same problem.
At this point, I am pretty sure that it is a bug with the "Select Object" tool.
Any help with this matter is highly appreciated.
Kind regards

Hi @Alexanderfury87 go to preferences/Image processing and change the selection settings to Cloud (more accurate).

thanks for the tip.
I did that but sadly it doesn't fix the issue. The selection (obviously) is a little different, but the right edge and the lower edge still show a gap in the selection.
So sadly no luck with that trick. But thanks for your time anyhow!

@Alexanderfury87 looking closer at your screenshot - this appears to have a feather or something applied after selection- the corners appear rounded.

@Kevin Stohlmeyer It indeed does look like it, but I did not apply any sort of filter or anything else to this selection.
What you see in the screenshot is the immediate result after I hit the "select subjet" button.

I have the same issue. When I use 'Select subject' or 'Remove background' it always misses the bottom part of the subject (see the example).
I use 'Cloud' for detailed selection. Anyone have a solution for this?

Ive got the same issue with right and bottom edge of selection made with Select Subject, I've found that using "Refine tool" just on those edges helps but its super annoying Adobe does nothing about it but updates with some bs changes are released almost on daily basis...

I've got the same issue. It's been like this ever since Select Subject was introduced.

Same issue for me as well, even in the newest version of Photoshop. It is extremely annoying, especially when you need to do a high number of images. It takes so much time to add that additional selection. They really should fix this bug!

I have a photo of 6 people (3x3) I need to select them copy and add to a different background. The new Select Subject tool does not select all. Leaves gaps so the people on the ,top row have no legs and cut out their shoulders.
