When copying text from MS Word and pasting into PS, the selected font size (12 pt)  appears as what looks like 6 pt, only just legible. Has anyone had this problem?

Hey richarde95564158, Thanks for reaching out.

I'll need more details to help you. What version of Photoshop and Windows are you using? Could you please share a screenshot of the text?

Try using CTRL +  Shift + V, It removes any previous formatting that might be getting picked up when you're copying text.

Please check this Community post where our experts answered a similar issue of yours:

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi Shivani,

Thanks for the message. It looks like the problem is a bug in the PS type
tool.
(I am using W 11 and PS v. 25.12.0.806)

Instead of copying and pasting, when I type into the doc with 12 pt
selected, it types as 6 pt. When I type with 24 pt selected, it appears as
12 pt. so there seems to be a factor of 2 at work.

The attached screenshot may help to explain

The forum software removes attachments that are sent by email. Can you try again? Use the Insert Image button (mountain and sun) in the toolbar at the top of the Reply window.

Can you tell us what the PPI (Pixels per Inch) is for the image?

What does it say for the size in the options bar, Properties panel, or Character panel?

Hi

The attachment only illustrated what I described in the text.

PPI = 150
Options: Garamond Regular 12 pt
Properties: 150 PPI
Character: Garamond Regular 12 pt

If I select 24 pt it will paste at 12, so still workable.
I have been using PS for more than 20 years and the type tool has always
been a source of trouble. Even now it will arbitrarily change the point
size!
(And sometimes the font).

Looks very much like a software bug to me
