Shortcuts don't work

Hello,

I recently had issues with multiple Adobe apps. The shortcuts inside the apps don't work anymore.

Using the keyboard in general is fine. Like in Photoshop, using it to zoom, move, change the brush, etc. all works fine. But when I try to use the Control key with anything else, or any two-key combination, it just does nothing. So, for example, Ctrl+Z for undo does not work, but using Alt+Scroll Wheel to zoom or the space bar to move works fine.

Using all the functions with the mouse and menu bar on top also works fine. But using letters to quickly switch tools doesn't work.

I notice one thing, when I am in Photoshop Beta 25.1, when I press the control key, I toggle the "Auto-select" tick box on the top left. I thought maybe this prevented me from using the control key, but Photoshop 2024 (non-beta) has the same issue without the tick box.

I tried resetting the apps completely, resetting the shortcuts (that I have never changed), closing the apps completely and re-opening them, and restarting the computer. I tried every possible tutorial or forum post I could find, and I don't know what to do anymore.

I can also remember that I had similar issues on my old PC, where my Premiere Pro shortcuts did not work. I don't remember when I first noticed this.

I am using a pretty decent PC, bought in 2023.

Windows 11

Intel Core i7, 13700k

32 GB of DDR5 7200 MHz RAM

RTX 4080

Every Adobe application is installed on an SSD.

Hi,

I finally found a solution for my problem. I found it in a similar thread with the same problem.

All I did was change my system language to English (US) in order to get the shortcuts to work again.

I am using a QWERTZ keyboard, so I have a second laguage (English (Germany)) installed, to use this for keyboard inputs and date/time format.

Just wanted to share it, in case anybody has the same problem.
