Significant reaction time lag on Wacom Cintiq

I wonder if anyone else has this problem? When I open Photoshop (22.5.1) on windows 10 (Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60 GHz | RAM 32GB) on my wacom tablet it takes a few minutes before it reacts. I can't open a new document: 

 

As you can see open is grey and not clickable. The moment I can finally work it runs smoothly but when I switch in between screens with my mouse and do something different on another open program and then go back to photoshop, it again needs a very long time to react to that initial interaction. Any idea what is causing this?
