Slow performance when editing and saving 16 bit files in PS 2024

Hi guys,

As we receive constant updates I thought it best to create a new topic. Old posts may not help.
I have noticed very slow performance when editing 16 bit files, especially when saving the file. Files with very few layers with a maximum of 500MB. I don't think this is normal.
My computer is a beast, it was supposed to be as smooth as butter.
Is there anything wrong by default in the PS that could be compromising this performance?

Thanks,

Ricardo

For Save/Open, disable compression. The difference is dramatic.

But it sounds like you may have other problems if Photoshop is generally slow. Please post the complete Help > System Info.

Hi,

I would try it later, thanks for the advise. No it's not completely slow, for 8 bit images it flyes.

Dealing with 16 bit files, a reasonable amount of layers, file size around 1GB, it starts getting stuck, like when you drag a layer you realize it's not running smoothly.

Cheers!
