Smart Layer Filters won't show up

Hi, I've been trying to apply a smart filter with "Colour Halftone" But it will not show or apply to my illustration. I did turn the layer into a smart object first. It simply will not show up with any sort of filters despite having done the correct steps.

If you could post a screenshot of your screen that includes the canvas and the Layers panel, that would help.
