Anyone have their one true source they always go to find out the current social media post sizes? I have a client who often asks me for "Social Media Cards" for posting on LinkedIn and Twitter. I have always stuck with a 1:1 ratio of 1200x1200 pixels. Is this a good practice?

In my own experience each site has its own size guidelines. An avatar sized for LinkedIn might not work for Twitter or Facebook, etc. Same goes for headers (which always drives me nuts).
