To install the Focus Magic plugin for Mac:-

  1. Save the “FocusMagic500d.plugin.zip” file, if you haven’t yet done so
  2. Double-click the “FocusMagic500d.plugin.zip” file to extract the “FocusMagic64.plugin” file if it wasn’t automatically extracted
  3. Move the “FocusMagic64.plugin” file to the appropriate plugins folder – deleting the original file if there is one  For the Mac:  /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC

The Library folder is hidden on the Mac. To go to it:

  1. In the Finder, press the Option key (Alt).
  2. In the menu bar, click “Go”.
  3. Click “Library”.

Important Notes:-

  • For step 2 if you end up with a file/folder named “FocusMagic64.plugin 2” (or 3, 4, etc.), then delete those files/folders AND delete the “FocusMagic64.plugin” file, and then go back to Step 2.
  • Do not double-click the .plugin file to launch it.  If you are using Photoshop, you’ll find “Focus Magic” on the “Filters” menu.

Try this folder: First open the version you are using, then drag and drop the plugin into its' plugins folder.

Many folders are hidden and you can't find them in Finder or by searching. Try using Go > Go to folder in Finder and copy/paste the EXACT name you see - starting /Library/ or ~/Library/ - don't paraphrase or guess.
