"If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen" or so said the old phrase, often attributed to one H.Truman.
This weeks starter image was sparked by a recent forum discussion, in which it was said that it would be a pain to create a kitchen in Blender 3D. Well with a challenge like that I had to do it. 🙂 I created this in Blender 3D, with a bit of simple modelling, along with a few assets from Adobe 3D Assets. All texturing was done in Adobe Substance 3D Painter.
So you have the kitchen, what pictorial story will you tell within it?
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
To download the image below at its full pixel size, with an embedded ICC colour profile (sRGB), hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Have fun.

Dave, this is breathtakingly beautiful and one of your very best! Are we to infer that all we need to do is mention in passing that a scene would be a pain to create in Blender/Substance and you will feel compelled to rise to the challenge? 😊

Thanks Jane. A kitchen is quite easy. Lots of simple shapes and repetition. As for other scenes - it depends....... 🙂

Well done Dave, another masterpiece. It doesn't look 'quite easy'. Maybe it's just you do it so well, it feels easy. 🙂

Neither, Dave. She just setlled on a dark square like in 130 and felt at ease there, waiting for someone (else) to move next.

Sensational Dave. I guess you 'can' design kitchens in Blender.

Haha. It is funny what triggers ideas for a rendered image, something I read, hear or see. I do like a challenge and probably the most difficult are matching scenes from a film, such as the Bond roof I used a while ago. 🙂
I'm looking forward to seeing what folk will do with the scene.

Right now we're all too busy admiring it, Dave. It's happened before !

A certain queen found her right spot yesterday and went straight there to admire it from within, Jane.

I thought she was waiting patiently by the coffee machine, Jacob, hoping someone will soon brew a pot.

I love the leopard skin pants Leslie. I can see this lady having a sneak picture snapped of her in the checkout queue at WallMart. I also love that black as soot smoke coming off whatever that is on the plate. A turkey?

Haha thanks, Trevor, and yes it's a turkey, our traditional meal for Thanksgiving in November.
