Hi
Thanks to all who took part in the our Halloween challenge.
This weekend, I bring you a photo of a bridge in Glen Affric, Scotland which I snapped a few years ago. It is a beautiful part of the world, but a rather ugly concrete and steel structure supporting the bridge. Can you use your Photoshop skills to smarten it up with something more in keeping with the surroundings?
The “rules”:
* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc
* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".
* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!
* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only.

A lovely change in the season Bob. The rust fits better with those colours 🙂

Haha. Who would have thought that a tartan short wrap would improve the look of the bridge 🙂

I started out with so many mistakes, but it was fun just to play with something quick on a Friday evening. giving myself a time limit helps to shrug off the things I wanted to change. Just go go go. (but don't look too closely)
Also, led me to a couple of great bridge design websites, including a fun hand-made bridge making video (grandpa amu wooden bridge).60 minutes GO!

That's much better Ko. The wood is far more in keeping with the surroundings. Nice job!

Change in seasons.
I decided to work with Lab Color.
It’s really a tribute to the late Norman Sanders.

It's lovely, K, and perfect timing. Norman would have celebrated his 95th birthday tomorrow had he not passed away last year on November 3.

I wish I could give you an extra Like for mentioning Professor Norman K. Jane, It was easy to forget that Norman was approaching his centenary. He was still so sharp and clever, and one of the nicest people I have encountered. He thought of you as a special friend, and I am sure you felt enriched for having that friendship. I love that Norman and JJ live on in old threads occasionally reawakened. It’s interesting that they both lived in New York, but only JJ had what we think of as that stereotypical New York personality. It reminds me of when Disney opened in Paris, and the joke about how they would be unable to find enough polite and friendly people to staff it.

As soon as I saw it, I knew it had to bear the words that could be seen on at least one bridge in the old days, before the old monies were abandoned on Dreadful Day.
Based on memory (supported by roads.org.uk and Roader's Digest): 1970, the northern side of the first bridge across the new Durham motorway (A1 southbound), carrying the B1288 (to be replaced by A1231).
Have you also seen it, Dave?
Some of the other entries seem to confirm its being a (more) suitable warning on this side.

I've not seen that writing on a bridge Jacob. Maybe I was sleepdriving 🙂

Dave, It just occurred to me: how could anyone be sleepdriving at the time I saw that writing?
It happened In the Summertime, even at the time it peaked as could be heard from every car radio; so it could be all round you at traffic lights through the open windows.

Well, the eddies do flow upstream, do they not? 😊 Nicely done, Rafael, and you've proven that GC's Pooh sticks will make it under the bridge!

Hope the green kayak doesn't crash into the yellow one 🙂
