Something for the Weekend - Part 183 - Kiss and make up.

Community Expert ,
Mar 03, 2023 Mar 03, 2023

I was amazed at some of the inventive ideas we got in our previous, cabbage, challenge. This weekend I have a simple object, I wonder what creative images you can make from it.

The “rules”:

* Use the starter image as at least part of your own image entry.

* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc

* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".

* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

* The starter image is made available for you to use in this forum challenge only. Sorry to emphasise this, but the image is not for use elsewhere.

To download the image below, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image – please use the blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun.

Dave

Had a bit more time this morning to play with this challenge, so here's round two. Screen Shot 2023-03-11 at 10.46.49 AM.png

It's a pity we still don't have forum banners and the associated challenges to make them. It would make a good splash screen

Very clever.

Should it be:
a lot of lipstick on his collar
or
a lot of lipsticks on his collar
🙂

I guess technically it's a lot of little lipsticks on the collars. 🙂

I did have in mind "a lot of little lipsticks on his collar" for the second or but see I left out the "little". Good you saw it 🙂

Wikipedia says it came out in 1959 so I would have been 10.  It would have been Radio Luxembourg that far back, which was medium wave which faded in and out.  I used to listen to Alan Freeman on Pick Of The Pops, but he didn't host that show till 1961.  So, truth be told, yes I remember the song well, but probably not from when it was first released.

"Didn't your radio stations play oldies?"

At least one of us had no radio, Jane.

But when there was an occasion, Radio Luxembourg would be the one to turn (the wheel to get) to; Radio Tirana only played one oldie, albeit forcefully.

Now that is clever Jane !  I recently read about the poor chap who spent years calculating pi, by hand, to 707 digits but it was later found out he had made an error at the 528th decimal place! I am not sure whether it was worse or fortunate that it was not discovered until after he died.

Thank you Dave!

It's too bad that he's best known for that 528th decimal place and not for the first 527 that he calculated correctly by hand. Not everyone could get that far! Interesting article and I enjoyed reading it.
