Thank to all who took part in our previous 'puddles' challenge. After all that walking and splashing, this week I thought we should look at more modern transport. of course 'more modern' is relative and this locomotive is on the South Tynedale railway in Alston, a 2 foot, narrow gauge, railway.
As the train pulls into the platform, what happens next?

Typically it was one of those days when the wrong sort of leaves on the line halted service.

Frosted leaves, a particularly nasty type 🙂

Haha - it is in Alston! I'd like to see that train make it up a two foot wide track 🙂

Ah so that's how you get a standard gauge loco on a narrow track - squash it! 🙂

That looks like it is about to pass us at speed, which is a new lease of life for the loco as the Tynedale railway as a 15mph speed limit! 🙂
I just looked up the history of the engine, which generates all of 70 hp, which is a lot less than a family car! It was originally built in Poland in 1957 and was rebuilt at the workshops in Alston in 2001. It is the Naklo mentioned here: https://www.south-tynedale-railway.org.uk/locomotives-stock/#1547126320348-2f8696d1-d4f6

It looks a bit like on of our tube stations. Is it a real station or AI generated?

The station is real but cut apart and rebuilt to fit the perspective. Only things AI are some clean up and the smoke.

Every child should have a train set 🙂 There are also many grown men with model railways including, famously, Rod Stewart.

I wouldn't limit that to men ...
