Thank you to all who took part in our previous locomotive challenge. There were some great ideas and images.
This weekend we have a miner's safety lamp. There have been many variations since its invention by Humphrey Davy in 1815, but all work on the same principle and it has saved many lives.
What can you do with it?
The “rules”:
To download the starter image, hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser). It is a png with transparency so you should not need to spend time creating a mask for it.
When posting back your image — please use the blue reply button in this first post and use the 'Insert Photos' icon at the top of the reply box. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry, then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.
Have fun!

LOVE pantomime season! When I was at university I used to help run the lights at the Alhambra theatre in Glasgow. The panto was always a great time, with stars nobody here has ever heard of, like Lonnie Donnegan, Ronnies Barker and Corbett, Norman Wisdom, and Bruce Forsyth. The Christmas Day evening performance tended to be a bit risky, because the stars would give scotch as gifts to each of the crews (electrical, props, scenery), resulting in somewhat erratic stage cues and a couple of nail-biting near misses.

I performed in Panto upon a time!
Worst mistake we made one Saturday matinee was throwing sweets out to the kids.
They all came back as missiles. Poor old Genie!

We were off to panto in Edinburgh that night so thought it was appropriate!
My first pantomime experience was His Majesty's in Aberdeen, Anita Harris was Peter Pan!

Blimmen heck! I can't believe we didn't think of a genie in the lamp before now — kudos for getting there first. Is this a modern take on what a genie looks like? Or is it one of the wishes? i.e. Make my horrible boss become tiny and trapped in this lamp.

If you used Firefly to do this, would it count as a 'self portrait'?
I love the setting and shading. The table's perspective is spot on, and the back of the lamp has been nicely constructed to keep with the slightly higher view. I love that sort of attention to detail.
