Something for the weekend - Part 39 - A shave and a haircut !

Community Expert ,
Sep 28, 2018 Sep 28, 2018

Hi,

After last weekend's break to focus on the forum banner challenge, the deadline for which has been extended*, this week we return to a normal Something For The Weekend challenge.

I therefore bring to you the SFTW Gentlemen's Barber Shop, which is actually a 3D scene I modelled over the last few days. I got the idea from an image Dag posted a couple of weeks ago. What will you do with it? Will you make it a scene from Sweeney Todd, or the Barber of Seville, or Hair..... ? Or will you do something else entirely?

As always, anything goes as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc.

Anyone is welcome to have a go - whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert.

There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun.

When posting back your edited images please use jpeg and downsize to 1200px on the long side.

To download the image below in jpeg format with ICC color profile (sRGB) and without the forum scaling artefacts , right click and then use Save Image As /Save Target As (or similar depending on your browser).

Have fun

Dave

I used the Panos Page Curl Action, which  is super-easy to apply.

Rista / Jerry - love them both. It amazes me the different styles that the same starter image can invoke.

I had to look carefully Jacob - but now I see it - the ghost in the mirror at midnight

Dave,

I really like the mirrored mirror on the opposite unseen wall which doubles the mirroring of the clock so the mirrored clock is unmirrored.

And I hoped the size and position would be within the believable range for a customer in a chair.

The toughest decision was the level of ghosting, hopefully between too faint and too obvious.

Hi

Nice one Trevor - an awful lot gets swept under the carpet here

Semaphoric - I love the guillotine image. Due you think it belongs to Sweeney Todd's French cousin?
