Good morning,

I apologize if this has been addressed already, I could not find anything for it. I have always wondered how to sort my swatches in the swatches panel alphabetically....is there a way to do this? Not in my CC libraries, those are all good but I use my swatches panel religiously. This should be simple....can anybody help me please?

Also, is there a good way to then organize my swatches panel after I sort them? Thank you!

You cannot sort swatches, but you can library items. Library colors also change the value in solid adjustment layers with one click.

Libraries replacing swatches in something worth looking into  as Adobe is putting more development into libraries than swatches. You can share them with your coworkers.

You can change that when you are in view by type if greyed out as mine is shown.

Thanks Mike! I was thinking that's where they were directing us to, the libraries. I do have them sorted by name and now I will most definitely be using them due to this aggravation! Thanks 🙂

Hi there,

We currently do not have the option to sort the color swatches Alphabetically in Photoshop.

You may submit this as a suggestion (feature request) at the below mentioned link. This forum is monitored directly by our developers and they can check if the feature can be included in a future version.

That's pretty discouraging so I will start using my library then. Thanks for the response!

Perhaps you could edit the Swatches.psp file to do this.

Possibly but I kind of just wanted an easy fix, it should definitely be an option for swatches. Shame it is not, my swatches are such a mess because it's been years of never organizing them. Shucks 😞

So I apologize here but there is no way to mark an answer correct for me or close out this question. Adobe support, can you help? Thank you!
