Stamp Visible Missing Photoshop 24.7.0 [PS 2023]

I have a stack of six layers. I went to use "Stamp Visible" as I always have by selecting the upper most layer and using the shortcut of "Shift+Option+Command+E". But I did not get a Stamp Layer at the top of my layer stack. I figured that my shortcut was missing in an upgrade that I did, so I went to look for the "Stamp Layers" selection in the menus but I can't find that either. So I'm a little stuck without a little bit of help.

I'm in PS 2023 v24.7.0, using a Macbook Pro with Ventura 13.1

In advance, thanks for the direction.

Resetting the photoshop preferences might restore the keybord shortcut.

Go to Photoshop 2023>Settings>General, click on Reset Preferences On Quit and restart photoshop.

In photoshop go to Layer and hold down the Option key while clicking Merge Visible and you'll do a Stamp Visible.

As far as the shortcut not working go to Apple>System Settings>Privacy & Security>Full Disk Access and add the Adobe Photoshop 2023.app from Applications/Adobe Photoshop 2023.

Jeff,

Thanks for the reply. Option and clicking Merge Visible does the trick and got me back to work...thanks.

I also followed your instructions for getting the shortcut to work, but I have not had any success there. Given this I went to create the shortcut (Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts), but I am unable to find the selection "Stamp Visible" in the choices. Is there is a further solution I can try?

In Keyboard Shortcuts, you will find Merge Visible Layers. Adding the "Do It Better" key, aka the Option key keeps the initial layers while creating a new merged layer. You won't find Stamp Visible.

Control + Shift + E

Command + Shift + E

Jane,

Thanks much for the reply. On my end if I follow Jeff's guidance and manually select "Merge Visible" while holding down the option key, I get a new layer at the top of my stack. This new layer I have always refered to as a "Stamp Visible" layer. So as of now, I am achieving my goal manually.

Up until very recently I have been able to accomplish this with the shortcut "Shift+Option+Command+E". This shortcut no longer works. I would like to be able to use this shortcut. A relatively minor issue, I suppose, but it was a shortcut I commonly use.

Thanks again for your guidance.

Yes, those are the two methods to Stamp Visible. I was responding to your comment "I am unable to find the selection 'Stamp Visible' in the choices." You are unable to find it because it is not there.

Just want to toss an opinion out there for you. While I used to use this all the time as part of my workflow, I just create smart objects now - might be something to consider in your workflow.
