Status bar disappeared, Photoshop

PS 21.00, Mac Catalina. The status bar is not there (at the bottom, showing fiel size, etc.). I reset the workspace, hit tab, hit F. Restarted PS. No result. How can I get it back?

Please show a screen shot so we can see what you are seeing. It could be that the window has been moved (or resized) and the status bar is just below what you can see on your monitor.

The status bar will only show when you have a file open.

And pressing F when you have a file open, will invoke Full screen mode, which hides the status bar.

To bring back the status bar, press F once or twice. Full screen mode has two modes – with and without menu bar.
