Strange behavior in the Libraray module

Explorer ,
Oct 15, 2025 Oct 15, 2025

In an instruction video, Matt Kosklowski points the cursor to a color in the Library, and automatically, the color picker is set to that color. When I do the same, nothing happens. He is using a beta version, and I have version 26.9.0. Is this version related, or is it a bug?

Hi @Rolf Södergren! Thanks so much for reaching out!
To look into this a bit further, could you let us know which video you're referring to? If you’re able to share a screenshot of what you’re seeing, that would be super helpful too.
Thanks again!

Hi!

The video is part of a course by Matt Kloskowski. It is not available for
free on the internet.
I have attached two images. One is immediately before he has made his
selection, and the other is after.

That is the only thing I can tell.

I have mailed to Matt but he couldn´t give an explanation, but suggested
that I should contact Adobe.

Hey, @Rolf Södergren. I've tried to recreate this, and it works as expected.

Just so you know, this is a personal color tile, and it works as expected. Are you working with shared libraries?

Thanks!

Hi!

I have created a couple of color schemes and saved them in the Library, but
I can´t change the foreground color just by pointing to a color
in the library.

I don't understand what "a personal color tile" means. My Library is not
shared with any other.

Hi @Rolf Södergren, let's try to figure this out. We could use some additional information to help get to the bottom of this issue. Could you please send your system information, a screen recording of your interface attempting to change the colors through libraries, and a numbered list of the exact steps required to replicate the issue? You can find your system info by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. Thanks! ^CH

Hi!

I hope this info could be to some help even if the system info is
incomplete.

1. A new document is opened and I can access My Library.
2. I choose the Eyedropper tool and point to one of colors in the
library.
3. The color number is displayed, but the color picker is not changing.

@Rolf Södergren

I'm not sure if I understand your issue, but I see that the foreground does change as per your screenshots. Can you clarify what is not working?

Hi!

I feel that I don´t have anything more to say. It has been described since
I first reported
the difference between the behavior of my Photoshop and that of "my
teacher´s".

If you can´t find the problem, I can live with it.

Hi!

I can´t because it is course bought from Matt Kosklowski and I have no
permission to
distribute the video.

You must contact him. The course is named "Texture Creator Studio," and the
video is number 3.

Since Matt Kosklowski is using a beta version, and the feature was likely introduced or improved in that beta, your current stable version might not support this feature yet.
