I'm involved in a Rugby league side in Leeds (UK) and we would like to do something like the attached for our fixtures. 

Do any one know of any templates that could be used for this, or how easy it is to do. 

Ideally we would want somthing that is close to the stadium where we play

What do you mean by »fixtures«? 

At a first glance the nature of the design would seem a better fit for Illustrator (vector) than for Photoshop (pixel). 

But it may take some time either was.

It should be fairly simple to import a photo or scan of a real map then use that as a guide for drawing the lines. I agree with c,pfaffenbichler that Illustrator would be a much better tool to use for this project.

It's doubtful you will just find a template for this stuff. After all, you would want it to be based on your region and specific requirements of your league and the home/ visitor teams. A map is easy enough to find, but even if you were able to export it from e.g. OpenStreetmap, it would still need cleaning up and re-drawing parts of it, then adding all the markers and text. As Mr. Pfaffenbichler already pointed out, this is stuff you typically do in Illustrator for ease of use and the requirements that usually come with producing signage like providing die lines for vinyl cutting or the resolution and sharpness required for print.

Agree with the others that illustrator will best suited for this, although obviously not impossible to do with Photoshop.
I don't know of any template for this kind of stuff but something you can do is find vector assets you can place and position over a "photo" map. What will be left to do is to change the test, colours and draw the path that links all the dots.

A bit like that (or you could replace your location points with a Rugby ball icon, or anything else)

Obviously, you'll need a bit of elbow grease to position them precisely and change the colours text etc...
You can screen grab a map from google map/earth and place your assets over it, and them hide the original map obviously.

PS: You can paste vector assets in Photoshop. It will just be a PITA to change colour and text.
