Subject: Issue with Transferring Images from Lightroom Classic to Photoshop for Editing

Software Details:

  • Lightroom Classic Version: 12.5
  • Photoshop Version: 25.0.0
  • Operating System: Mac OS Ventura 13.5.2

Description of the Problem:

When attempting to edit an image from Lightroom Classic in Photoshop, the expected behaviour is for the image, with all its Lightroom adjustments, to open directly in Photoshop for further editing. However, instead of opening the image, Photoshop only displays its home page.

The issue is specific to cases when I want to open a copy with Lightroom adjustments. When I try to open the image as a smart object or open the original image directly, the transfer to Photoshop works as expected.

Steps to Reproduce:

  • Open an image in Lightroom Classic and make adjustments.
  • Right-click on the image and select the option to edit in Photoshop.
  • Choose the option to open a copy with Lightroom adjustments.
  • Photoshop opens but only displays the home page without loading the selected image.

Expected Result: The image with Lightroom adjustments should open in Photoshop for editing.Actual Result: Photoshop opens to its home page and does not load the selected image.

Additional Information: The issue does not arise when opening images as smart objects or when directly opening the original image.

I hope this issue can be resolved promptly. I appreciate your assistance in this matter.

Best regards,

Frank Romano
