Symmetry Tool completely missing (CC 2019)

I've been wanting to use the symmetry tool in photoshop for some time, I updated it and I still can't access the tool.

I've gone into Preferences > Technology Previews and its still not an option to be able to turn on.

Any idea?

Do you mean Symmetry Mode?

That’s not a Technology Preview as far as ai know.

Please post a screenshot with the Brush Tool selected and including all pertinent Panels.

It's turned on by default in CC2019, just select the brush tool

I have the brushtool selected. Not there. I went to preferences, still not there. No sign of it and no one seems to know.

update: The problem turned out to be the workspace setting. Symmetry does not appear in the option menu if you have painting selected in the workspace tool, I had to set it to "core tools" again not "painting".

one more update so sorry... It appears that if you refresh the painting setting to default everything goes back into place.
