I attached a pic below of what I'm trying to achieve. Im wondering how to get that text effect. If someone can explain the process that would be great thanks! Also I'm using a Mac laptop.

I think this is easier to achieve in Illustrator. Do you have access to Illustrator?

If you have Photoshop- Not terribly hard to do-

On a text layer with type, click the Warp icon, select from many 'Style' presets (eg. Wave),

edit the warp with the sliders for [Bend] and [Distortion] as required.
