In Photoshop, is there anyway to use a larger than 72 pt text. It is too small for the place I have to put it.

Just type in the font size you want in the menu bar. Resizing fonts by transforming can mess up paragraph styles, if you use them.

In Photoshop, you use the Type Tool to create a type layer. There you can choose a font and the font size you want in the Options bar on the top. In many cases you can adjust the font size until you find the size that looks best.

Select the layer with the type in it. Use keyboard command -
command-t. You will see handles around your type, and then you can
resize. This is in addition to the method mentioned by gener7.
