The pasted image changes when I undo past the "copy" history state.

The pasted image changes when I undo past the "copy" history state. It always used to keep the copied image even if I undo. It started happening at the same time that my "undo" shortcut and and "toggle last state" shortcut randomly switched.

Let's start with the Undo and Toggle Last State.

  • What happens when you choose Ctrl+Z multiple times? Does it perform multiple Undos or does it toggle between Undo and Redo?
  • Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts. Is "Use legacy Undo Shortcuts" enabled or not?
  • In the Edit menu, what does it say the shortcuts are for Undo, Redo, etc.? Show a screenshot.

I'm not sure what you mean here. It seems to me that you must copy before you can paste, so if you undo to before the copy, it includes undoing before the paste. What am I missing? Screenshots will help.

  • Currently, after I changed the shortcuts, when I hit Ctrl+Z multiple times it does nothing. It is set to  "toggle last state"
  • "Use legacy Undo Shortcuts" is not enabled.

I just enabled "Use legacy Undo Shortcuts" and the problem seems to be fixed.
