The problem with generating images using AI. HELP!

Hi! I've  issues with AI in Photoshop. I tried using the image generation feature by cutting out an object and selecting the area around it. Unfortunately, when I ask AI to generate just a plain white background for the object, it starts redrawing the object itself, although I just need a white background. Well, maybe a slight shadow for realism, to blend the object into the background. I didn't have this problem on my Windows computer even though I did the same steps. Please help! (I'm using a MacBook M1, if that helps.)

@AndromedaOne sometimes AI isn't the best solution for an issue. Why couldn't you just create a white background manually and add the shadows on a transparent layer? Seems like overkill.

Yeah, sure, it was just odd for me that AI works fine on Windows without encountering this issue, but it doesn't work like that on the MacBook. Maybe it's some kind of bug or a setting problem.
