Every now and then Photoshop 2021 22.2.0 refuses to create a new document. Clicking on "create new" does nothing. I have to restart PS, which is a pain.
It's infuriating to say the least !
Imac running OS 11.2.3

I agree, though my issue is not being able to open a file. It will only open New Blank Files for me to use. Issue started this day.

How much RAM and spare disk capacity do you have?
Upgrade to Photoshop 22.3.0.
Have you tried resetting the Photoshop preferences, which you can do under the General tab in Photoshop preferences?

8GB is not really sufficient, you really need at least 16GB, how much spare disk capacity, I couldn't follow your measurements.

Well, I have been on this computer since January of this year - new.
Avail RAM 6904 with the suggested use of up to 4971 ( ideal range max).
140G free on my computer.

OK, I went to open some recent files and yesterday's files can be opened. Then I tried today's and I get the issue. So, I am assuming it's user error in some way - file placement or the like whether in the cloud or my organization on the computer since it says that the file cannot be found (sheepish look). If I can't find it, I'll be back ; )

If Photoshop is playing up resetting preferences back to the factory defaults often sorts issues out.
(Yes on Quit.)
You can save your presets etc

I spoke too soon. Unable to "create new" again !!
The problem seems to occur when I try to create a new document from my clipboard.
I just copied an image from the internet by control-click-copy image. When I try to "create new" in PS2021, it locked up. I have to restart PS again.
