Turning a picture to B+W and then adding some colour back into the image

I used Photoshop many times while I was in college studying photography, when I left college I lost touch with using Photoshop. One of the things I liked doing most with my pictures was to turn them into B+W and then add colour back into a certain part of the image for dramatic effect. If someone could please tell me how to do this again I would be very grateful

Hi Just add a black and white adjustment layer and paint with black on the layer mask
