Type tool lag

Hello All.

I am running Photoshop 23.0.1 (updated today)
Over the past few weeks prior to the update and now including this version.
I have an issue when using the Type tool.

In a new or existing document, when ever I use the type tool, the text does not appear as it is being typed.
I can see the cursor moving but nothing is visible.

I have to exit the Type tool, choose another tool and then then only does the typed text appear.

I have reset preferences.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

on which OS are you running Adobe Photoshop? Could you indicate what the features of your computer are?
