Photoshop V25.9.1 Windows

I cant seem to figure out how to disable Snap to (pixel) Grid.

I have fully disabled Snap to, and Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid in Preferences.
I have reset my preferences, my tools, and Photoshop

When I use the Direct Selection tool, when the Snap Vector Tools and Transforms to Pixel Grid is also disabled, it seems to work, but the second I want to place it, the object will snap to the grid anyway.

I'm at a complete lost

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

I have one question before anything else: Why would anyone want to disable snap to pixel grid in a pixel-based application?

The object that needs moving is not positioned exactly in the middle between two other objects right now, because of the grid.... and moving the other objects is a no go since its part of a template for work

There is no benefit to positioning objects without snapping to a pixel grid. If a single pixel shows a visible misalignment, you are likely working with a small-scale template. Aligning objects freely will introduce anti-aliasing, which is not beneficial, especially for small-scale objects and templates. Other factors to consider include the dimensions of the object being placed and the alignment of the template object.

It's not a small-scale template (its 5906 x 5906 px). Client wont see that it is not centered, but >I< know it's not. I just need to nudge it a few paces, and I used to be able to do exactly that if I was zoomed in enough, now I can't

Could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?

What do you mean by »place« exactly – confirming a transformation?
