Unable to sort CC library by date modified

Something happened recently and the order of my CC library changed. It now won't allow me to re-sort it by date modified. The option is greyed out. I can sort by date modified on Illustrator, but not Photoshop. Any suggestions how to get this option back would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi,

This is expected, because you have selected group by "Custom Group" - that way you are orginizing assets the way you prefer. If you want to sort assets by Date modified, you would need to switch to group "By Type".

 Hello, 
I would assume that I should be able to create a custom order by selecting "custom group"  and "custom order" but that is not the case. What am I missing?
