Use arrow keys for shortcuts?

Greetings!
I'm trying to assign my arrow keys for shortcuts to increase/decrease brush size and hardness.
But it won't work, it always tells me that it is an invalid key, for all arrow keys.
I really don't like the standart shortcuts and trying to work with an old pen tablet...
It would be very helpful for me to use the arrow keys on my keyboard.
Is there any reason why it won't work?
Any workarounds?
Thank you and with best regards

I might be wrong, but I don't think you can assign a shortcut to the arrow keys.
What about using <&>
or do you have any programable buttons or dials on your tablet? I have an Intuos that's a couple years old and have the ring set-up to adjust my brush size with a spin in either direction.

Thank you! Unfortunately it's a very old and small Wacom tablet without any buttons.
But I think it will be enough for my needs, just for the pressure thing.
Is there any explanation from Adobe why it's not possible to assign arrow keys?
Does Adobe answer on this forums too?
It would be so much more intuitive for me. Everytime I need to use # or - key, I have to look at the keyboard to hit the right button.
But not with the arrow keys, they have a seperate place on most keyboards and I can't miss them on mine.
They don't seem to have any use when I press them in Photoshop...I just can't understand why it is not possible to use them in such a good and complex software. I've tried to assign PageUp keys too, but it also won't work.
With best regards

I believe that (at least in OS) it would need to be listed in the application program menu structure, which navigation key operations are not.

Photoshop also uses the arrow keys and Shift Arrow keys etc as shortcuts in in tools like move and transform to nudge what you are editing. They are IMO like modifier keys.

You need to hit the Content tab. Start a New Discussion is not not available in the Overview page. I agree it can be confusing.

Not being able to use the Cmd+Arrow keys as a shortcut is the stupidest thing ever. We should be able to align layers with Control+Cmd+Arrow like in XD.

Hi, I believe the arrow keys are also used to rotate a brush tip.
do you use a localized version of Photoshop ?
I think work should be done on that matter, and that more default shortcuts should be modifiable by the user.maybe is it time to search or create a thread on the https://feedback.photoshop.com site, watched by Adobe staff. Make sure to provide as many relevant details as possible on why your suggestions would help.
