Hello,

I work with Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator for years now, and it all works great. However, there is one issue which I would like to discuss with you guys: what is the best, easiest en fastest way to cut a certain part of a picture and make the background white, or transparent?

Now I use the Magnetic Lasso to select the part that I want to keep, turn the selection and erase the part outside my "magnetic lasso part". This way the cutting is good, but it takes too much time, especially when you have 150 pictures to work on.

Is there any technique that I have missed?

@Marijn301577061a3r depends on the image in question, you could try the Object Selection Tool or the Pen Tool, if you're using the Pen Tool you'll need to right click after drawing the Path and select Make Selection, once the selection is made you can hit Ctrl/CMD + J to copy the selection to it's own layer

As GED mentioned, it depends on the subject. There are a lot of different tools that work well with some images, but not all. Channels are good, polygon lasso works well, as does the pen tool. The select subject tool gets you close, sometimes, but other times you spend more time cleaning up the selection that you would if you bad just used the pen tool.
