WHY DO YOU KEEP DOING THIS?

Move should move, transform should transform. It's like in programming a function should do ONE THING. I hit move and I get a free transform tool I try moving and it selects more things. Why do you insist on "fixing" what is't broken? Leave it ALONE. Also, (cursing removed) with that generative AI nonsense.

@dayglowdave have you turned off "show transform controls"  when using the move tool?

You can also turn off "Auto Select" to prevent grabbing extra items.

This isn't a new feature - it's been there for years.
